The museum itself offers a detailed historical context, There’s an audio guide which features a dialogue between two people that feels overly long-winded and chatty, making it easy to lose interest while trying to navigate the exhibits.
As a healthcare professional, I found the crypt genuinely fascinating. Standing in rooms intricately decorated with the bones of thousands of monks is a surreal and bizarre experience. Having seen similar bone churches etc in other countries, I still find the concept strange, but it is clear how deeply spiritual and meaningful this tradition was for the friars as a reminder of mortality.

Book online: Ordering tickets in advance saves time at the entrance.
Mind the dress code: Since this is a sacred religious site, shoulders and knees must be covered to gain entry.
