Tours of Distinction - Connecticut的点评
点评：We recently returned from Tours of Distinction’s Highlights of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island tour, and unfortunately, it was not the vacation we expected or believed we had paid for.
At 8:58 p.m. the evening before our departure, we received an email informing us that the CAT ferry and overnight stay in Yarmouth had been eliminated. The original itinerary would have allowed us time to explore Bar Harbor, take the ferry, and rest overnight in Yarmouth before continuing to Halifax the next day. Instead, Hopewell Rocks was added, resulting in an exhausting 11-hour day on the bus to Halifax. Because the time change was not properly considered, we also missed the tide change at Hopewell Rocks.
This unfortunately set the tone for much of the trip. We spent too much time traveling and not enough time enjoying the destinations, and many stops felt rushed. By the end, it seemed we had spent more time on the bus and in hotel rooms than actually experiencing Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Some of the accommodations were also disappointing. One hotel was so far from town that we had to take the bus just to go out for dinner, and some did not seem consistent with what had been advertised. The motorcoach was old and did not even have a working DVD player.
With only 13 people on the tour, we felt that important parts of the trip had been scaled down. Eliminating the ferry and Yarmouth stay took away what would have been a more relaxing and thoughtfully paced journey. Although we were given an extra night in Halifax, it did not replace the rest and experience we lost in Yarmouth.
After the trip, we contacted the company about our concerns. Instead of meaningful compensation, we were offered a voucher toward another trip—something of little value to us after this experience.
We came home feeling that we had spent too much of our vacation getting from place to place rather than enjoying the destinations we had traveled so far to see. We would not choose Tours of Distinction again and would not recommend them based on our experience.
