Shangana Safaris Okavango Botswana的点评

What an unbelievably wonderful experience! Shangana Safari’s provided the best experience possible for our private group of 6 adults. We mobile camped 2 nights in the Kalahari, 2 nights at Lazy River, 2 nights in Khwai (Moremi was flooded) and 2 nights in Savuti with the same staff and our guide Master, who was a phenom. Master is an expert on the area, having grown up in the Okavango, and guiding for many years. He could track predators, knew all (literally) the birds and was patient answering our many, many questions. Plus, he had a great laugh and was fun! Our cook was excellent and all meals were plentiful and delicious. We enjoyed a large tent, cots with mattresses, rugs inside, hot water morning and night, and a private latrine and shower area attached to the back of the tent. Our group was crazy for the game drives so every day was out looking for the wildlife, and we saw everything we hoped for. Lions mating, elephants swimming across the river, wild dogs, cheetah cubs playing and elephants, elephants, elephants. Our game drives usually began in the dark after a cold breakfast but then we returned for brunch. We were out again at 3:30-4 for the evening drive and then dinner after. There was always a fire going when we returned and a fire in the morning. Everything was so interesting and exciting. I LOVED camping because you don’t waste travel time into and out of the parks, you hear the animal night noises (the hippos at Lazy River were my favorite but the lions roaring on both sides of camp were a close second) and the smell the wild sage and basil was intoxicating. The trip exceeded my expectations in all areas. IF I did this again, we would allow 3 nights in each camp so we weren’t on the move as often but that was our choice. We all felt very lucky to have the crew and guide that we did and highly recommend Shangana Safaris!
