Much More Than Just a Viewpoint – Allow Plenty of Time

点评：Perlan is an interesting museum showcasing Iceland’s natural history, geology and wildlife, with an observation deck offering panoramic views across Reykjavík.
We visited as part of a bus tour and unfortunately were allowed only about 40 minutes. This was enough to go up to the observation level and enjoy the views over the city, but nowhere near enough time to properly explore the museum.
What actually caught my attention most were the exhibits we passed on the way through, including displays on Iceland’s geology and wildlife. They looked fascinating and, in hindsight, I would have much preferred spending more time exploring these rather than simply coming for the panoramic view.
There is also a restaurant upstairs beneath the impressive glass dome.
If visiting independently, I would allow at least 2–3 hours and actually experience the museum rather than treating Perlan simply as a Reykjavík viewpoint. I certainly wish we had been given more time.
