Hot Air Ballooning from the foothills of Mt Hutt的点评
点评：The weather on the day we'd originally booked was forecast to be pretty awful (wind / rain / low cloud). However, a quick enquiry asking to be transferred to a flight a couple of days later was quick and easy. The organisers were super helpful and responsive.
On the morning of the flight everything worked like clockwork. Graeme (pilot) and the team were very friendly and allowed us to help out with inflating the balloon and packing up at the end, accompanied by the traditional post-flight glass of champaign!
The flight itself was fantastic. It was a cold frosty morning, but the burners kept us warm. We got up to 8000' with a view over the Alps as far as Mt Cook and out over the Canterbury plains to the Pacific. Graeme was very informative, explaining how we could use the katabatic wind from the Alps to blow us away over the Plains until we gained enough height to catch an Easterly to move the other direction. Fascinating stuff.
Overall, an awesome experience!
