点评:We were on the fence bout spending the money but so glad we did. We booked on Monday night for a Tuesday morning rental. It said to arrive 30-45 minutes early but 30 is plenty of time. We watched a few minute safety video and chatted with a worker about safety advice. We took a picture of the map and made sure to note a few things he said - stay to the left on the hills and avoid the wet/tree area (I forget the letters - maybe the P area). I couldn’t fit my hat on with the goggles they give you so leave the hats in the car. Our “guide” had us follow him into the dune area but that’s all you get as far as guidance once out there. We have experience with 4 wheelers and UTVs so no issues there but it took us a bit to get a feel for the area. The first hour was exploring and the second hour we felt a lot more comfortable. One hour wouldn’t have been long enough. It was a lot of fun. Mondays and Tuesdays - especially first thing in the morning are much slower. The closer to the weekends, it gets really busy. We would not have liked busy. Biggest things are stick to the map and listen to the basic safety rules. Maybe leave your phone in a bag - we got sand in our charging port. Cup holders for drinks. Would have given 5 stars but there is another rental place that also does a 30 minute guided tour with each group before your time starts. If you’re unsure of yourself or want to get a feel for it, a guided tour would be great. We actually saw one of the tours and jumped at the back of the line for a bit LOL. Also helpful that we hiked the pedestrian area the day before. We sat on a dune and watched the motorized side for a long time. It was helpful to have that little bit of background. We’re planners though. Our UTV went about a max of 30 mph. That was plenty fast for us. If you have the money or won’t be back to the area, I’d recommend it. It was a very cool part of our trip.
