Hogs For Hospice的点评
点评：This is now the premier motorcycle rally in Canada. If not North America. It gets bigger and more exciting every year. This is Canada's Sturgis Rally! The international biker community has embraced Hogs as a go to for summer events. I hope this event grows even more. It's amazing how the community of Leamington and Essex county have welcomed this event with open arms. I have been to Hogs since day one. It is a gem to this community and an exciting charity for the local hospice. Keep up the great work.
CAMPING not associated with H4H: I hate putting a bad light on any local business. However, for the sake of future campers at the next H4H. I feel compelled to highlight my camping experience. A "know before you go" assistance. The camping experience was a zero star. It was a shady money grab BY THE ROMA CLUB from the moment we made the reservation. Sad given this is a charity weekend. The ad for camping clearly states $75 a night for a tent site. But once you pay for your campsite, it is now $100 a night per campsite. We were also told there would be showers provided. Let's just say the showers provided were pretty much a garden hose attached to a shower head fixed to a refurbished porta john with cold water only inside. WITH LOCAL HOMELESS ALSO USING IT! Could they put the tents in shaded, blocked off corner protected from vehicle traffic and drunks. Nope, they stuck them in the most dangerous area possible. Each night there is an afterparty near the tenting area which goes till 2:30am. Most drunk patrons don't leave the area till 4am. Try sleeping in a tent a hundred feet away from giant speakers blaring dance music with a DJ screaming out the words of the song. Then try sleeping while drunkin 20 year olds fight, scream and fall on to your tent. While cars and pickups drive on the grass inches away from your tent. Cutting through the site to get to the grocery store parking lot beside, so the police can't ding them for drinking and driving leaving the Roma Club. Driving close enough to my tent to shear the tent strings. Sound safe? It's definitely not. There's no fencing to stop them, not even a temporary snow fence. No security over night. Do you need to use the washroom while you're camping on a 3-day weekend?? Well you won't be using it after Saturday morning as all three porta johns in the campground were out of toilet paper. Leaving us to use the washrooms at Burger King and local restaurants and stores. Remember we paid $100 a night. I have been going to Hogs for hospice since 2016. Since the original year it started. I've been riding motorcycles my whole life. I'm not 80 years old. I like to party. I like to get drunk and I like to have a good time with my bike. I've been to Sturgis, Daytona, Dover and more. This isn't poor planning. This is a scam. THIS PUTS an extremely negative light on the H4H hemisphere. While an amazing charity is trying to do amazing things. This place is literally scamming patrons for a quick buck. Unless it somehow gets fixed next year. DO NOT CAMP AT THE ROMA CLUB. Sure, being a block away from Hogs for Hospice is convenient. But at what cost?? Your sanity? Your sleep? Your safety? The fact that most of us get up early in the morning on Saturday, to go to the charity ride, actually makes this camping dangerous. 2 hours sleep each night. Do better Roma Club. You have people coming from all over the province to go to this event. Most of those people assume the Roma Club H4H camping is part of Hogs for Hospice. It is not. It's a money grab, that they use to leach off a charity. An extremely sad situation. If I were Hogs, I would talk to a local farmer, the town or whoever and see if they could set up a field for camping at Hogs. I would still definitely pay a premium price per night and so would most people knowing that money is going to the charity. I don't even believe the Roma Club gives the camping money to the charity. Hogs for Hospice...YOU ARE AMAZING!!! I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT YOU. Please remove yourselves from this money grab.
