Ilfracombe Aquarium的点评
点评：A lovely little aquarium situated on the quayside at Ilfracombe. Entry was via the cafe and cost £8.50 with discount for older people.
We spent over 2 hrs learning about, and following the journey from an Exmoor stream to the harbour. It involved exhibits both written and visual; and the male and female aquarium staff demonstrated enthusiasm and passion with their
detailed knowledge. In order to enhance the experience for us, the animals were fed to demonstrate points that the staff were making.
We were fortunate to be present when a spider crab shed its shell, and we were able to handle the new moult, which was fascinating.
The viewing platform was a real bonus as we spent ages with a birds eye view of rays, plaice and other large fish.
Although small, it is run to zoological standards and well worth every penny.
Whilst we didnt have children with us, there were many present and eagerly engaged by both parents and staff in learning about what goes on in waters around us.
