点评：The Walkway Over The Hudson provides fantastic views of the Hudson River Valley and the general Poughkeepsie area from a restored former railroad bridge. Lots of informative placards along the entire bridge provides a history of how the railroads bridge was built, how it affected the growth of Poughkeepsie's industries, how a 1974 fire damaged the bridge, and how it was restored to this parkway. A great way to get in a nice walk and learn some local history along the way.
Each end of the bridge has small entrance kiosks with snacks, drinks & souvenirs. The bridge is ~1 mile between the kiosks, with benches to rest every few hundred feet. The weekend afternoon I was there a free shuttle bus was transporting visitors from one end to the other, so you're not committed to making the long (but flat) walk in both directions.
While the bridge walkway is lighted, note that the bridge closes @ 7:30 PM. Also note that the elevator that provides a shortcut back to the Poughkeepsie train station area was not running while I was there. The east end of the bridge is fairly close to downtown Poughkeepsie, so there are plenty of food options there. It's also an ~20 minute walk from the train station, so you don't have to drive if traveling from the south.
