Wonder house and ground by the water and mountains

点评：Superb house and grounds located next to the sea/river.
We really enjoyed a day out here this week.
We ate in the cafe before entering the grounds, jacket potato's with bean chilli, it was very nice.
We then took a steady walk along the gravel path which is lined with californian maple trees, the path leads down towards the house with a stunning view of the water and mountains beyond.
The stewards in the house are very welcoming and helpful, we were told stories of the past whilst we walked through the upstairs area, it was much appreciated.
The information cards dotted around the house that explain the history of the house, specific rooms and it's occupents over the years are very interesting.
There is also an open ring binder placed on a side board at the top of one of the staircases detailing the artists and year of the painted portraits that are hung on the walls throughout the house.
The library was being used up until 2013 by the 7th decendent of the family and it has been left exactly as he last used it.
The grounds are very well maintained and the flower garden with a lily pond is absolutely stunning! A lot of effort has been put into this beautiful exotic garden.
Plas Newydd is definitely worth a visit!
