点评:This museum was absolutely incredible. It offers insight into how The Great War affected Belgians and their every day lives, and how it was fought from both the Entente and Germans. You rarely hear from the side of the Germans, which I think makes this museum even more interesting. The museum starts you through a house built in the 1920s, through a mock up WW1 bunker, and then through recreated trenches. Many parts of the trenches use the original materials that had been used during the war and had been recovered from the surrounding area. You can see where shrapnel ripped through the shelters. The museum recently finished renovations, which added even more sections and modernized everything. The museum finishes off with an amazing tribute to all the lives lost during the Great War. There is a beautiful surrounding area including a park with many more memorials, a large pond, and lots more to explore. There's also an entire WW1 "tour" that takes you around Ypres and all of the surrounding towns. I would highly recommend this museum, and while you are in the area, visit Tyne Cott and watch the Last Post ceremony in the town of Ypres.
