点评:My wife and I were down from Leicester for a few days, and during a day trip to Rye we came across this National Trust treasure as we were wandering around the side streets of this beautiful small town. As we only had a short time in the town before the coach departed, we initially thought that we couldn’t risk visiting the house, but we decided to have a quick walk around and forgo lunch, and this turned out to be a good decision as this is an absolute gem of a place. It looked to be faithfully recreated as it once was when it was occupied by literalists, and we were fascinated by the items on display. We both enjoyed hearing the stories of its history as imparted by the genial volunteer we met on entering the house, and it gave us a good grounding before we explored. So, just a must see when you’re in Rye, especially if you are NT or NTS members.
