Hughenden Manor的点评
点评：Hughenden Manor is up there with one of the best National Trust houses we have ever visited. The home of Benjamin Disraeli, fortunately they have maintained most of his furnishings, pictures and artefacts most of which his wife Mary designed and had made by master craftsmen.
The RAF map rooms give a fantastic insight into the skills the employees had to give the RAF pilots intricate maps of the bomb sights in Germany, Italy and other enemy countries to help the war effort.
The exhibition of the Antarctic expedition in 1901/1904 which Disraeli persuaded the government to fund which at the time was deemed a disaster. But in actual fact the vast biological, geological and meteorological information they acquired helped future expeditions enormously. It shows the unbelievable hardships the men endured in the frozen north trying to make their way to the North Pole.
Well worth the visit….👏👏
