Stunning hike - effort to reward ratio is great

点评：The hike is stunning: photos don't do it any justice. The views along the river gorge are breathtaking, and you get great views for almost the whole hike (except for the first section).
Hike is not technically difficult for regular hikers: very easy. Can be long for those not used to distance (24km+). It straddles a gorge but is fine for those afraid of heights because the path is always very wide: zero exposure.
We walked from Poncebos to Cain (then back again) - highly recommend going in this direction because Cain is a beautiful village with plenty of lunch options vs Poncebos which is a hamlet with 2-3 bars. Took us 2hrs 45mns each way. From this direction there is a large ascent at the start of the hike, and then again at the end of the hike. Rest of the route is largely flat.
We visited in June during the abnormal European heatwave and were hiking in excruciatingly hot conditions (35+ degrees). Be careful to prepare adequately for hot days because this hike has little to no shade. The sun and heat exposure is brutal. Bring a hat, sunnies and sunscreen and plenty of water. Wear sturdy shoes because most of the path is small, loose rocks.
