点评：This was a fascinating museum. You first enter the building designed for the American College of Surgeons, and this is where you purchase your ticket. The auditorium is something to see, but the real treasure is the Nickerson Mansion which is connected. This mansion was over the top even for its time when it was built. It has been restored lovingly. Much of the art is not original to the house but it is of the period of the house. The upstairs' levels with the bedrooms is set up with changing art exhibits. We were not very interested in those, but we went from room to room to see the details of the decor. They only hand you a map when you enter, so the information about each room is placed on placards. Sometimes, it was difficult to read the placard because they were not large and you had to wait for other visitors to finish. I wished there had been easier access to more information as we self toured the mansion.
