点评:We stayed at the Safari Hotel and had 2 days at the park 32/07/26-01/08/26.
The hotel was the worst experience, absolutely disgusting and I am still left wondering how they claim it's family friendly.
The park itself was ok. Some of the queues were a struggle, long wait times with a 3 year old are difficult.
We mainly went for the paw patrol land as my daughter is obsessed but after almost an hour queueing on day one she was left very disappointed that she couldn't go into the lookout tower to "get her mission" before riding the rollercoaster, luckily whatever the issue was had been fixed by day 2.
We were also disappointed we weren't able to see alot of the animals as the areas were shut despite the app saying all animals were "open" the ones we wanted to see we weren't able to.
I'd also love to suggest some more thrilling rides for smaller kids, my 3 year old was desperate to ride the huge Swinging Ship and the Dragons Fury coaster but only being 95cm wasn't tall enough despite thinking they looked so much more exciting than what she was able to ride, that's a problem we have everywhere she's a thrill seeker 😅
At the hotel, the beds were comfy, it was pretty quiet and staying in the resort meant we got early access the next morning and it was only a short walk.
BUT...
Everything else was terrible...
It has been over a month since our stay in a mold filled room at Chessington Safari hotel. With no resolution. I was told to email, as this wasn't up to their standard... but it has been a pointless endeavour so far.
Don't know what happened to it being a "family friendly" hotel. I personally would advise people to avoid the hotels at Chessington and save your money staying somewhere cheaper (and safer).
The room we stayed in was by all legal standards uninhabitable. The best we were offered as compensation for breaching consumer rights laws by supplying us with said room and putting our health at risk was £75 off our next stay (not even a third of the cost of our original stay) and not applicable as we will never stay there again. Then after a couple more weeks of waiting a £75 voucher. Just not good enough. People are paying for a service which is not provided and are entitled to proper compensation.
Despite wanting to, we couldn't just leave we'd had a five hour drive, a day in the park and an exhausted toddler who was fast asleep the second we actually got into the room (all I noticed before she fell straight asleep was her ripped bedding).
Broken furniture, black mold, peeling paint, ripped bedding. Along with water seeping up onto your feet as you walked on the bathroom floor. Hoping the water was just normal water coming up through the tiles, could be sewerage water hard to know in a bathroom.
Food was terrible too in the hotel and the booking system caused some issues. We were told we didn't have to book as the booking system was down, but the next morning for breakfast we were forced back into the same restaurant we had been in the night before because we hadn't booked. This led to my toddler barely eating, breakfast was better than the evening meal but still disappointing.
The food on the night was also expensive at £80 for 3 of us... Which wouldn't have mattered if it tasted of anything.... My 3 year old wouldn't even eat the pizza and that's her favourite food.
Overall the entire experience has just been stressful and continues to be now with the lack of customer service.
The room at the hotel was hazardous and uninhabitable.
Disappointing treatment guests.
Terrible food.
This is my family's personal experience staying in a standard twin room at the safari hotel.
If u read this, Please do not make the same mistake we made and stay at the resort hotels, enjoy a cheaper, nicer and safer stay somewhere else.
