Benromach Distillery的点评
点评：Benromach is one of the smaller and maybe less well known distilleries in SPEYSIDE. But beforehand we visited that along with the fact it’s locally owned was a major factor in visiting.
Sam was our tour guide and he was easily one of the best, if not the best tour guide we’ve had in 15+ distillery tours that we’ve done.
Some places the tour guide is good and knows a fair bit, but you can tell it’s a job rather than a passion.
With Sam you can tell it’s a passion and a dream job as he’s a walking encyclopaedia of all things Whisky.
The distillery itself is quite small and produces a lot less whisky than others, but the drams at the end showed that its quality that matters most here. Also, rather uniquely the Benromach is a slightly pleated whisky, which Sam said was how Speyside whiskies used to be years ago. So when the distillery was brought back into life they decided to go for a whisky from years ago rather than the current light and fruity whiskies that Speyside is known for.
A highly recommended tour that won’t disappoint.
