点评:Surely the whole point of a regional museum is to explain to guests the history of where they are visiting. The large major city museums can afford to be more specialised focusing on for e.g. art, world culture, etc. Brighton Museum's coverage of local history is inadequate apart from an admittedly good archaeology gallery. There is a small room about Brighton Lives which surely should be the biggest and most interesting gallery, and a small (and OK as far as it goes) exhibition about Brighton and Hove Albion FC. Too much space is given over to earnest themed topics like "Passion, Power & Protest" and "World Stories" which are both such broad topics that they aren't adequately illustrated and surely not what visitors to the city would be interested in seeing. I'm sure they would want to learn about Brighton Stories! Similarly there is fairly pointless small Egyptian gallery given that the British Museum is only an hour away by train. This museum could/should be great but it seems to be trying too hard to be too many things and coming-up short on all of them.
