Kenilworth Castle的点评
点评：This is a really impressive ruin of a castle.
It took a couple of hours to walk around. There are lots of steps which have been placed in the ruins so you can go 'upstairs' in some of the buildings. I found it quite hard work, so if you have mobility issues it involves a lot of walking and may limit your visit.
The cafe is in the old stables. It was very clean and tidy but service was so slow. Only 1 person seemed to be in the kitchen and she was rushing in and out with cooked food. The 2 staff at the tills were working at a slower pace and there were 3 or 4 empty cake boards limiting choice, including no scones. There were no clean forks, I had to ask for some, and no napkins, a roll of blue roll was at the service station instead for us to use. My husband was unimpressed with the blue roll, and even more so that a pasty was served on a paper plate.
It wasn't particularly busy but they were struggling.
We had a lovely visit but couldn't stretch to 5 stars mainly because of the cafe issues. We visited on a Monday during term time so it wasn't that busy.
Parking is free for members, 4 hours costs £5 or all day for £7, quite steep and not helpful that the machine wasn't taking cards, it would only accept cash.
