点评:We visited this museum on a Tuesday morning – just shortly after it opened.
The museum is housed in what was the former school that Cromwell attended – it is packed with exhibits charting his life – the battles with the Crown and his role as the Great Protector – and the grisly details of the revenge that Charles II ordered for Cromwell’s remains.
But the main problem is that the exhibition is too big for the space – reading information boards holds us others up – when we visited there were around 10 people of which 3 appeared to be staff – and it felt crowded and uncomfortable – we skipped the early information as there was a queue and moved almost to the end of the story – this was a very short visit.
The museum is free but with a donation – it is well located and easily accessible from a nearby surface car.
We had previously visited a similar museum dedicated to Cromwell and his family in Ely – whist there is an entrance fee – it still felt better value than this one - sorry.
