Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art的点评
点评：On arrival, I was greeted by a friendly member of staff who, spotting my camera, suggested that I start my tour at the 5th floor Observation Box and then work my way downwards.
I’m glad that I did, because that is where I met Steve who was a fountain of knowledge that he was keen to share. It was from him that I discovered that the Millennium Bridge is opened at midday daily and that the “Box” was the ideal location to take photos. He then went on to introduce me to the city’s association with Kittiwakes and recommended that I visit the Observation Deck and, whilst towards the end of the breeding season, I might be lucky and see a chick. I followed Steve’s advice and achieved success on both counts.
Working my way down the building, I was naturally interested in the current photography exhibition whereas contemporary art is a somewhat subjective medium.
With time to kill before returning to the Observation Box for the bridge lift, I lingered in the café where I found the staff super friendly and jovial and the prices reasonable.
The Baltic is free to enter with lift access to all floors and the Observation Box/Deck offer great panorama views of the city.
