点评:As an experienced diver I was a little concerned with the practice of just handing out NITROX to everyone, even beginner divers with no experience or understanding of the NITROX physics. Don't get me wrong, the diving and service were OK, I'm not here to get all bent out of shape. That said, being told I couldn't dive with the 'experienced' group was a bit of a shock. Over 5000 dives around the World and worked as an underwater cameraman contracted to NatGeo etc.
My biggest concern though was the reverse profile dives they took my wife on. We dived together in the morning, 20m on NITROX, OK no worries. I then stayed the afternoon with my son who was with us on the first dive to head off and explore the island. Meanwhile my wife was then taken to around 38m for the afternoon dive again on 32% NITRoX. This, for me, is cutting that safety margin way too thin.
I'd also heard after that dive, maybe from another dive group, but there was a diver medevac from Rangiroa for DCS. If such a practice is widespread within Rangiroa then it comes as no surprise that incidents like this may happen. Diver, make the best judgement when dive briefings are made.
