点评:This is somewhere I've been intending to visit for a long time, so we finally got there. We took the tram to Shalesmoor and walked, which isn't far, but after the first sign to cross the first section of dual carriageway there are no more signs until you get there. It's safer to use the crossing then dive down any street opposite the tram and turn right and follow the road. if you know Sheffield you may want to drive - I wouldn't as there's limited parking and part of the road was closed when we were there.
It's not a large site, but there's plenty of information, lots of displays about Sheffield steel and of course the highlight is the operation of the River Don steam engine twice a day, which shouldn't be missed. There's a cafe on site which is excellent, or another cafe at the start of Kelham Island and at least one more on the walk down from the tram.
You can easily spend half a day and it's free, although donations are welcomed and it's worth it.
This museum compliments Abbeydale Industrial museum, also in Sheffield
