Mixed reviews for Maya beach experience but worth a day trip

点评：Upscale vibes, great place to relax.
Pluses: not overly crowded, we had lounge chairs in the garden area and we were not crammed in close to others. Two pools and one is huge. Never felt crowded. Access to the sea convenient, paved ramp, wooden staircase into water with secure railings and rocks for jumping.
Towels provided are large, plush and soft. Water in ice bucket provided gratis with chair reservation. This beach club was complimentary for us with our hotel stay at Atlantic Palace. Shuttle service included (but with add-on fee). The fee is well worth it because the entrance to the beach club is steep decline of switchbacks and hairpin turns. Music at the club added to the ambience.
Drawbacks: Pools are saltwater - dont submerged your head unless you enjoy having your eyes burn and tear. Sun deck around pool very hot. Pool entered by ladder (2 - one on each end. Very deep but water is so salty that you might stay afloat. Lots of beautiful people taking Insta snaps in inconvenient places like stairs into the ocean and around pools. The website says there are two beach entrances - one at each end of the property’s shore line. This was inaccurate: there was only one, the other appeared to be undergoing construction. More shady spots needed, umbrellas between chaise lounges did not provide shade to more than one lounger. No shady spots in the pools. Food good but overpriced.
