Nice grounds, expensive, grubby facilities, hopeless signage
Castle Ward的点评
点评：It’s certainly a beautiful location with stunning grounds which I really enjoyed BUT…
1. My main draw for visit was to see the Studio @ Castle Ward. At the entrance the lady who took my £15 entrance fee seemed unaware of it initially and then remembered it was in farmyard. Not a good start
2. The farmyard is practically empty and the Studio comprises 1 tiny shop/display area which was hugely disappointing since I only really paid entrance fee for that!
3. I ordered a toasted teacake at the overpriced cafe - it came barely warm, barely toasted and therefore barely edible, very little butter, no jam. It takes a special kind of incompetent not to master toasting a teacake
4. I arrived at 11 and the toilets in stable courtyard were already dirty with loo roll all over floor. The toilets down at the farm yard don’t have hooks on doors so nowhere to hang bags and soap dispenser nearly empty (in morning). Come on NT - when you pay £15 the facilities should be spic & span and screwing hooks to the doors in the ladies is hardly going to break the bank
5. The directions and map are useless and the signage variable - I got lost several times
6. There is practically no interpretation anywhere - I met a lovely volunteer by chance who had so much interesting knowledge - but nothing on boards or even qr codes. Even in the house there is nothing to tell you what the rooms are. Not everyone wants to be accosted by house guides - there should be the option to read for yourself.
So - would I visit again? Nope. Was it value for money? Possibly given there is a lot of grounds to explore but for that money I’d expect everything to be better. Would I join NT based on this experiments @ £100 per year? Not a chance,

我11点到达，发现马厩院里的厕所已经很脏了，地上到处都是卫生纸。农场那边的厕所门上没有挂钩，因此没法挂包；而且早上时洗手液也几乎用光了。拜托了，NT——当你支付15英镑后，设施理应保持整洁干净；而在女洗手间的门上装几个挂钩也花不了什么钱啊。
5. 路线说明和地图毫无用处，指示牌也时有时无——我好几次都迷路了。
6. 整个景区几乎没有任何解说信息：我偶然遇到一位非常友善的志愿者，他懂得很多有趣的知识；但现场既没有解说牌，连二维码也没有。就连在房子里，也没有任何说明告诉你各个房间的用途。并不是所有人都希望被导游缠着搭话——应该有让游客自行游览的选项。
那么，我会再去吗？不会。物有所值吗？考虑到园区内有很多地方可游览，勉强算吧；不过花那么多钱，我本期望一切都能更完善才对。基于这次体验，我会以每年100英镑的价格加入国家信托会员吗？绝对不会。
