A rare jewel - don't leave without a visit!

点评：We were wandering Aberdeen's city centre and came across this hidden gem. Having been disappointed to see this lovely town covered in metal fences and workmanship signs, this find was almost too good to be true. All the more so because we arrived ona 'soft launch' day (the house doesn't formally open till 1st April).
Over 4 floors (beware, those with mobility issues - there is no lift and floors are reached via a stone spiral staircase), this house packs in and delivers a wealth of history and stories of the great and good (including recent decorated Olympians/Paralympians, and the singer Emelie Sande). There is a floor dedicated to different sectors so there is something for everyone including a room with games and a mandala wall drawing with pens provided. The undoubtedly treasure is the handprints roof that lay hidden for centuries. I cannot say more to avoid spoilers...but you absolutely must see it - and if you're lucky, an amazingly informative guide called Karen will be able to tell you all about it and share a few other secrets besides. I would even go as far as saying she and her colleagues are just as priceless, as they really bring this wonderful place to life.
