Interesting, But Not Quite the Viking Experience We Expected

点评：We visited Jorvik Viking Centre as we’re both really interested in Viking history, so we were looking forward to this and perhaps had quite high expectations.
Unfortunately, we found the experience just okay. The ride and displays felt quite rushed, and we felt there was so much digitalisation that we didn’t really have the opportunity to stop, take things in and properly learn about the history. We were hoping for more of an immersive, hands-on experience that would really bring Viking York to life.
Perhaps our expectations were simply too high, but by the end we felt that we could have watched a good YouTube documentary about Jorvik and the Vikings and come away with a very similar experience.
It’s certainly worth visiting if you’re interested in Viking history, and there were some interesting things to see, but for us it didn’t quite deliver the immersive historical experience we were hoping for.
