Best place for peaceful walk in South West London

South west London.
We spent just over an hour walking a familiar trail through the park, starting at the Teddington Gate entrance. This is found off the Blandford Road next to the National Physical Laboratories. (There are many entrances to the park, Hampton, Hampton Hill, Hampton Wick, Kingston etc.)
We'd walked this route many times in the past, but due to 2026 having the longest drought ever, we'd never seen the park this dry. The grassland areas were just yellow straw like most of the countries, gardens, fields and open spaces.
Clearly, the park wardens were doing a great job of looking out for potential fire hazards, as we didn’t see any blackened areas.
There are herds of deer roaming free, woodlands, fountains, rivers, roads, paths, lakes, children’s playgrounds, cricket fields, rugby pitches and elegant, historical buildings to be found scattered across these acres.
Highly recommended for nature lovers, walkers, cyclists or anyone in need of a relaxing time in a beautiful setting.
