Highlight of our trip to Kilkenny with kids

点评：Visited here on Saturday with our 2 boys aged 3 and 6. When you drive up to it you don’t have a huge expectation as it’s in an industrial estate but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. It was amazing! Such a nice way to spend 1-2 hours with the kids. They absolutely loved it. There were reptiles in every enclosure and ones we had never heard of. A cute little play area too and we were luckily to be there when there was an animal encounter talk planned. A very informative talk by a girl who knew her stuff. Kids got to touch a few of the reptiles and ask questions.
Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the cafe. We were hungry and would have loved a sandwich or a wrap or anything healthy. We got teas and coffees and donuts for the kids but it was only out of necessity. There was a sign for toasties but they had none. Just feel the lack of a decent sandwich is a missed opportunity but I appreciate it’s not necessarily the intended purpose of the coffee shop to offer lunch.

我没有给五星的唯一原因是咖啡馆。我们当时很饿，很想吃个三明治、卷饼或者其他健康食品。我们买了茶、咖啡和甜甜圈给孩子们，但那只是迫不得已。虽然有烤面包的招牌，但他们并没有。我觉得缺少像样的三明治是一个遗憾，但我理解咖啡馆的主要目的可能不是提供午餐。
