点评：Great trip. We arrived at approximately 11:30 am and made our way towards the entrance of the visitor center. After paying the admission fee we waited for the next available tour to begin. The tour guide started off the tour by giving us an overview of the house and its location in relation to the underground railroad. We were able to get a better understanding of who John Rakin was as a person and his tremendous impact in the community. After viewing the exterior portion of the house and surrounding area, we made our way inside where the tour guide took us from room to room, while pointing out interesting artifacts and features out for display. The house was beautifully decorated and furnished to recreate what life would have looked like in the 1800’s. The tour guide was extremely thorough and the guided portion of the tour lasted roughly 1 hour. The tour guide was open to answering any questions that we may have had. On the way back from the house we made a quick pit stop at the visitor center where there was a small gift shop along with some restrooms. The visitor center also contained several informational plaques that provided some background information on the house and area.

Tip: I recommend spending 2 hours here if you truly want to see everything.
