First time to MV and this was the way to go!

点评：Booked online, easy! Great way to get to MV. Bring cash for snack bar - they have mimosas! We had a bunch of luggage with us and it was fine, just make sure roller bags are somewhere they won’t roll away once you’re underway. We kept ours in the seats next to us. Sat on middle level and the view was beautiful.
In the summer there is a restaurant nearby with a great view if you get there early - when we went in October the only nearby spot for a meal was the Black Dog about a 7 min walk past the island queen entrance - the ferry ticket ladies let us leave our luggage with them while went to grab a sandwich. Had I realized they had decent food on the ferry (chili, chowder) I prob would have just done that but the black dog had some good healthy options if you’re looking for that.
Also, we had hoped to rent a car and drive from Boston and drop the car at the ferry launch, but by the time we booked no rentals were available. So we booked a private driver who let us do some exploring along the way (Plymouth, Mayflower) which turned out great. His name was Raffi and if you google Raffis limo Boston you’ll find his info. Nice new suburban that fit the four of us and our luggage. Made it very easy to do a half day in Boston Thursday after our flight landed, a couple Friday morning activities then Raffi got us at 11 from our hotel in downtown Boston, took us by the Mayflower/Plymouth for a look around, and we got to ferry around 2:10 then still had time to walk to Black Dog for lunch and back to ferry by 2:45 before 3pm departure. Off season tho so that timeline may not work in summer.
