Blair Athol Distillery的点评
点评：I have been to several distilleries in Scotland and this was one of the best organised visits I've done. Ross, our guide, was just splendid. My brother was visiting from abroad and as soon as Ross started talking, my brother told me that he can understand everything which Ross was saying because he was explaining it so clearly and with amazing enunciation, fantastic delivery, storytelling and showmanship. The tour which we chose was the Signature Tour, which was £21, and it was thorough enough for 1h without either overloading you with details or remaining surface level. It was on Friday and the distillery was not too busy - a healthy buzz which generated a nice atmosphere but not too loud at all. We saw all the main parts of the distillery, learned of its history and saw all of the parts of whisky distillation process. Ross encouraged questions throughout which also gave us the opportunity to learn more and some of the members of our group (around 12-15 people per group) asked really interesting questions. The tour was followed by a tasting - of course the most anticipated part of the tour! We tried Blair Athol 12 followed by two exclusive types of Blair Athol whisky, only available for purchase in Blair Athol distillery. It was very unique to try such rare types of whisky. Afterwards, we learned that one of the whiskies which we tried can be purchased in the bar where you get to bottle it yourself AND write your own label! Of course I had to do that and Ross, being the champ and true whisky expert that he is, helped my party to the bar where we completed the process together. Truly, this was probably the most fun distillery tour I've done in Scotland and I would recommend it to anyone, because the attention to detail and care with which it is curated is truly unmatched for me so far. Not to mention - the distillery is a beautiful, picturesque site worth seeing even just for its beauty AND they have live music on Fridays for the summer, so a true place of culture and somewhere you can enjoy yourself. Thank you so much Ross, you're a gem and your dedication to your job and love of whisky emanate from you and make for a truly special experience!
