Monte Cassino Battlefield Tours By Dr. Danila Bracaglia的点评
点评：We spent two days with Danila this summer (August 2026). She provided our family of four with an in depth private tour of Monte Cassino, the Cassino Commonwealth Cemetery (where my British grandfather is commemorated), Anzio, Aprila and the Piana delle Orme Museum.
Pre-tour communications with Danila were prompt, informative and highly personalized; from the first it was always her desire to tailor both days in order to best honour our fallen grandfather's journey landing in Italy to his last battleground. She advised us of ideal itineraries, places to stay and eat and which approach to the subject matter would best engage our two teenage children.
When we finally met in person, Danila's encyclopedic knowledge of the two areas we travelled to was very impressive. Dates, context, anecdotes, all relayed with quick recall; her passion for the history of the area was clear from the sprightliness of her memory and story-telling ability. It was obvious she has had much experience bringing tourists closer to this often quite sad chapter of their family war legacies. It was not lost on us that her own family and ours were intertwined by the events of the times, and we enjoyed hearing how her parents and hometown fared during the upheavals of WW2. Like any great guide she was able to quickly recognize and gently acknowledge all the emotions we brought along on the tour. Yes, many of the tales she told were those of horror, but amongst them there were some of hope, resilience, and even humour. We had some interesting discussions about much earlier periods in the Cassino monastery's history and to our delight discovered our shared love of vintage Italian cinema!
Thanks to all Danila provided for us - a personalized booklet, stories, song, archival footage, photos and hands on museum experiences, we believe these two days with her were well worth the travel and cost. We are especially hopeful that these two days with Danila will be something the youngest amongst us will never forget.
