点评:My experience of this zoo was mixed. The experience with the Red panda and the lemur was fantastic. The keeper Makeeley (sp?) was great, and the animals so cute and interactive. It was as good as I had hoped. The enclosures are well kept and contain enrichment activities, and the grounds are nicely landscaped with flowering natives. However some of their policies are not helpful. Despite making enquiries in advance about the best time to come and being told the animals did not change their behaviour based on weather/time of year, we arrived on our booked day to steady rain and being told the animals don’t like the rain and might not participate. I also heard them tell someone else that there were no refunds/reschedules due to weather, which as I had paid over $400 was concerning. Luckily they did let us try 2 times for the pandas. Also be aware gift vouchers can only be spent on the ‘experiences’- anything extra is a donation basically. I had to spend another $30 on an umbrella because they wouldn’t let me use the remaining $20 on my voucher to pay for it. To spend it, we bought a cheaper experience with the Tassie devil at $25. When I unfortunately dropped my pass, they refused to reissue it, even though I had spent almost $500 there that day, and the same staff had sold it to me that morning, so there was no doubt I had paid for it. So my advice would be it’s great for locals who can make decision on the day based on weather, but not for an interstate visitor who spent a lot of money on flights and accom to attend the specific ‘experiences, as with their unforgiving policies it is just too much of a risk. I also would not buy a voucher, just by the ticket directly so as not to waste any money.
