Great trek on the Machame Route with Tranquil Kilimanjaro

点评：We had a five person private group for the 7 day Machame Route trek. From the start Charles, the chief guide Jerry and assistant guides Calvin and Innocent were extremely reassuring and thorough - including a full kit check in the hotel. Arrangements were clear and adhered to, and the team delivered an organised and professional trek. But that doesn't do justice to the way they did it! You spend a lot of time with the crew and they were brilliant and so supportive. They couldn't do enough for us from dusting us off at the end of the day's walking, to carrying daypacks when the altitude sickness and exhaustion struck. They were incredibly reassuring to us as novices in a high altitude environment and without their guidance we wouldn't have all made it to the top. Chef John delivered lots of delicious food from his kitchen tent, everyone in the team made us feel welcome, with real warmth and humour. They might do this all the time but they made us feel special!
It was a great time of the year to do this trek. We had sunny days and clear cold nights with incredible views of the stars. It did mean that campsites were busy and they are noisy places - remember your earplugs - but no rain, and dry underfoot.
We had a great time, stood on the roof of Africa and have memories to last a lifetime. Thank you to Charles for his responsiveness in planning the trek, and to Jerry, Calvin and Innocent for their guiding skill and their great company. And thank you to the whole team for making it such an unforgettable experience.
