Musee de la Batterie de Merville的点评
点评：Having visited a good number of the Atlantic Wall bunkers, I thought I knew what I was going to get at Merville. WRONG !! It's a history lesson, a memorial, an education and an immersive experience all rolled into one incredible site. The casemates don't have guns in them (you can see that at Longues-sur-Mer, Crisbecq or other excellent battery locations). each has been dedicated to an element of the history surrounding Merville: the gliders, the Germans, the British 9th Para and the Canadian Paras. Without sending any spoilers, there are some great videos to engage with about the Allied attack in the early hours of 6th June 1944 and a terrific immersive experience. Oh, and there's an awe-inspiring C-47 Dakota on site. This one used on D Day over in the US sector around Saint-Mere-Eglise, but so what ?! It's awesome. What a brilliant place.
