Nice course, spoilt by compulsory caddies

点评：I have played the Amelkis a few times before and always enjoyed it, hence why we returned this year. However, the caddie experience was an absolute pain. We had to have at least one caddie per group, the main object seemed to be to get everyone round as quickly as possible, which sounds like a good thing. But in reality it spoilt our enjoyment. We were two groups of three and quickly lost the group behind, but after 13 holes we were suddenly caught up by a two ball in a buggy, at which point our caddie started rushing about even quicker, taking our clubs off all of us and moving our trolleys to speed things up.
After a couple of holes I got fed up and told him I wasn’t prepared to be hassled to play at a ridiculous pace just because a two ball in a buggy had caught us up. This seemed to irritate him and he completely stopped speaking to me, not that I was remotely bothered.
We finished our rounds in 3 hours 15 minutes, more than acceptable for 3 balls, but because everything was such a rush, none of us finished the small amounts of food we’d taken or had much to drink.
Totally unacceptable, I won’t be returning or visiting any courses where caddies are compulsory in future. And the man behind the desk where you check in was a complete misery, which was a shame as I recognised him from previous visits when he’d been perfectly ok.
