点评:Saw Beautiful last evening at Count Basie. The production was fantastic, but the seats were horrendous and after 3 hours I could hardly walk out of the theater and to my car, which was a block away. I am a small, petite, healthy woman who always picks an end of aisle seat, knowing how difficult it is to navigate getting up if you need to visit the restroom. Even with an end of aisle seat, my short legs were crammed up to the back of the seat in the row in front. I couldn't cross my legs if I tried. I didn't even have room to set my bottle of water on the floor. The most important point was that if I was uncomfortable as a tiny woman, how could a normal sized person or a large man ever sit in this theater? There was an intermission, but when the show ended I was in such pain that I could hardly stand up and get moving. This is NOT ME. I spent my entire youth going to the Carleton Theater for movies and other events. Even in this century I've seen performances and was never so uncomfortable in this gorgeous, historic theater that I've loved so much my entire life as a Red Bank native. The ticket price was great, but I'm still in terrible pain the next day and was it really worth it?
