Pleasant Christmas Visit
小法兰西的点评
点评：The Petite France area is very scenic and full of German half-timbered houses. This used to be the tanner's quarter of the city and there is at least one building that shows what its original purpose was. This area is very popular for people that like to take photos and one of the most popular spots is a small bridge called Pont du Faisan.
We visited a couple of times during our stay in Strasbourg - Once in the evening during a Christmas Market tour and a second time during the day on our own. The Christmas Market here has one vendor that sells glass ornaments that are very popular with locals. When the Christmas Markets are happening the whole central area of Strasbourg can get very busy but in the early morning it is much easier and less crowded. We would recommend a visit to this area during the day and at night. We only spent about 20 minutes in the area each time we visited but would spend more time if the restaurants were open. We visited during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and most restaurants in this area were closed during our visit.
La Petite France is in the southwest corner of Strasbourg's old town area and is a short walk away from Ponts Couverts de Strasbourg and Barrage Vauban. You can get nice pictures of La Petite France from these two landmarks and vice versa. We included this area as a stop in a self-guided walking tour and many paid walking tours will also take you through this area.
