点评:This is an archaeological museum. There were no line ups to the entrance. In fact, most rooms we found ourselves alone. So perhaps it is not everyone’s cup of tea, but we found this museum intriguing.
The museum carry's on to deep depths with the tunnels and cave like structures which further peaked our interest. History takes us far into the medieval times to the end of the 12th century. The displays are very well written and curated.
We enjoyed the moment of quietness in the deep structure which was originally a hospital for orphans in the medieval ages.
We observed, a visitor or two who came in to sit down to clear their minds and have some alone time. There was this rare quietness to be experienced here. It was deep underground. A refuge.
We spent a long time here. Several hours. Our train back to Florence was booked; we would have continued exploring otherwise. We took our time in the Children’s art museum and had a quick run through the picolinimini permanent art collection.
P.S. The first Sunday of each month, entrance is free.
