点评:I’ve seen many mosaics all over the world. These are much more partial than those to be found in Sussex, but nevertheless important, including the attached. Why does this man have a cockerel’s head? We don’t know and there’s something about mosaics in particular which makes me so frustrated that we’ll never find out, as it’s so clearly meant to have an obvious meaning to all who see it, but we can’t understand it any more!
The staff here are absolutely wonderful, clearly delighted that anyone makes the trek out to see them (and a trek it is if you, like me, think a lot of routes means a good bus service - good in terms of coverage it might be, but one which takes FOREVER to get anywhere). Extremely knowledgeable volunteers who are also really, really friendly and that’s not always the case. A wonderful cafe and shop too. Do go, they’ll be delighted to meet you!
