We walked the last stretch, from the village of Cure to the church.

点评：I admit that we didn't complete the entire climb to the church from the lakeside (typically, Peschiera Maraglio), but only the last stretch, from the village of Cure (the closest to the church) up.
We had just cycled around the entire island along the coastal road; and we reached Cure from Peschiera on the free shuttle bus, which — in addition to the regular buses — is activated during the Cure "Salami Festival" (early May).
After lunch in Cure, we tackled the final climb, which involves only 80 meters of elevation gain and a 2 km round trip.
The trail initially winds through olive trees and other crops, then enters the forest that covers the summit of Montisola, allowing us to cope with the final stretch of the climb in the shade.
The view is expansive as you leave the village of Cure, spanning the entire northern part of Lake Iseo. It then narrows in the woods, only to open up again when you reach the church. Since the latter is located at the highest point on the island, a walk around it offers 360-degree views of the entire lake and both shores.
