点评：Castel de Bellver was built in the 13th century as a castle and a palace. It was later used as a prison. It is at the top of a hill and offers panoramic views of Palma. The castle is a unique circular shape with a colonnaded interior courtyard.
It is in good condition though no traces of the original uses remain - the rooms are museum space for a history of Palma and a Roman sculpture collection.
The entrance fee is nominal - a few euros - and the site is worth visiting. But the museum is primarily a series of panels with huge blocks of dense text in small print. I don’t understand why so many museums don’t seem to understand that few people want to stand around reading lengthy text, even about something reasonably interesting like Palma’s multi-millennial history. This museum would be much better with some thoughtful curation.
