STEAM - Museum of the Great Western Railway的点评
点评：Wifey and I popped in on the way home from Amesbury and were very surprised !
The museum covered everything that went on at Swindon in the GWR (Great Western Railway or Gods Wonderful Railway) from locomotive build and repair the carriage build and repair and everything in between. As an old engineer it made me feel very old !
All the exhibits had lots too explain with taking points which would explain what you were looking at.
We found, unlike some museums, that the interactive exhibits ALL WORKED !
I managed to drive a steam train between stations and wifey worked the points in the signals hut !
Some beautifully restored and cared for trains and so much to see and do !
Small criticism would bee signage as sat nav wants to take you one way and local signage another. The car park has a barrier which you have to press a call button which isn’t marked.
Overall a great few hours wandering around in a rainy Sunday.
Will be back again probably with Mumsie and dragon in law.
