点评:A nice visitors centre with cafe, toilets and shop. Free entry and a request for £4 for parking. Wonderful view point from the centre of glencoe valley. A peat and brush wood recreation of an old house has been built in the grounds, but does seem to need some tlc to keep the weeds from growing on the roof.
The visitors centre exhibits are a bit disjointed and therefore disappointing. A small section in the geography of glencoe valley , lots of displays about the local animals (and their droppings m!), plants, etc. The short film about Glencoe was very much an advert for the National Trust for Scotland and it’s content jumped straight into the politics of Jacobites vs the Protestant Crown with no prior history about the people of the area. Also weak on the area. Eg A drone tour of all of glencoe valley and facts about their formation and current status would be interesting, especially for those who have accessibility issues and would struggle to see much of the local area. A more coherent section on the history of the peoples and of course the massacre would also be great.
