点评:This is one of the best hidden gems in the province of Alberta. We enjoyed seeing the geese, muskrats, beavers and birds that frequent this area. We visited in early August and would recommend the summer months to see this area when the animals are present and dawn or dusk to see the most activity.
There is no guarantee that you will see the beavers but it is easy to mistake a Muskrat for a beaver at a distance and think you've seen a beaver - we saw quite a few people that did including us. The best area to watch is the water around the beaver lodge because you might get lucky and see a beaver or two grab a snack or go for a swim. If you don't see a beaver the area is still lovely to go around with many well maintained boardwalk paths, benches and a lookout.
There is free parking near the boardwalk area and we would recommend planning to spend an hour here. The walk is pretty easy and we saw a man enjoying the boardwalk in a wheelchair. Be mindful of the edge of the boardwalk as it would be pretty easy to fall into the water below if you are not paying attention. We would recommend using some bug spray in the summer months because the mosquitoes can be bothersome.
