点评：You get a glass of wine and a glass of prosecco each (half a sealed bottle of wine to take away), but these are only given at the end of the session when you are then told “10 minutes left” so you can be turfed out for new paying customers. If you want any drink during the “lesson”, this will be on top of the €85 per person.
What is in included is a basil plant each (about $2 euros) and then, between 2 people 2 cloves of garlic, some salt and some Parmesan, a cheap apron and some pecorino and half a food sharing platter each which you have to eat quickly. Maybe €30 each absolute max. We spent €230 for a couple.
I imagine this experience was previously wonderful when it was under 20 people, but the owners have gotten very greedy. Around 100+ people turn up on the terrace for a pesto “lesson” which consists of a single guy giving instructions over a headset across a terrace that is around 60 feet long. You can barely hear it and only maybe 20% of people have a nice sunset view. There is not personal element whatsoever and the teaching is via shouting at great distance with no visuals or actual instructions . The best example i can think of is Madonna headset shouting in the distance. The entire area is riddled with blue-bottle flies (around 20 for each of the tables of 4 you will be split in to). This is largely because all the pesto pestle & mortars on the tables are filthy and have not been thoroughly cleaned between sessions.
We observed this across lots of other tables, not just ours.
The floor is covered in mud because they are running fans with water mist to cool the terrace so anything you put on the floor will be caked in mud. We would have enjoyed the session/ put up with the public toilet facilities, blue bottles and impersonal service if it had been 1/4 the price.
