京都府立植物园的点评
点评：We visited in late August, which is probably not the first time of year most people think of for a botanical garden, and it was still beautiful.
Getting there was very easy since there’s a station close by, admission was inexpensive, and it was not crowded at all when we visited. We spent about an hour there, but you could easily spend much longer if you wanted to slow down and wander. The layout works well either way—you can follow the paths pretty directly or just aimlessly explore.
There were still plenty of flowers blooming, the grounds were clearly well maintained, and the conservatory was absolutely worth walking through. It doesn’t cost anything extra and has different environments and plant types throughout, including some nighttime plants that were especially cool to see.
It was obviously hot in August, but there are vending machines around the grounds, so getting water was never difficult.
For me, botanical gardens are less about checking off attractions and more about having somewhere beautiful to walk, listen to music, have a good conversation, or just slow down for a while. This was perfect for that. If you like gardens, photography, pretty scenery, or just want a peaceful break from a busier travel day, it’s an easy recommendation.
