Budeful的点评
点评：Our visit to Budeful was one of the highlights of our holiday in Bude. We spent a wonderful half hour chatting with Nick, one of the joint owners. Although we didn't get the chance to meet Netty, it's immediately obvious that she's an incredibly talented artist whose creativity is at the heart of this fantastic little independent shop.
Budeful is packed with beautifully designed artwork, thoughtfully showcased on everything from framed prints and tea towels to clothing, Christmas decorations and greetings cards. These aren't the mass-produced souvenirs that fill so many seaside gift shops. Every item feels carefully designed, lovingly crafted and genuinely special – the sort of keepsake you'll treasure for years rather than tuck away in a drawer.
One of the best parts of our visit was chatting with Nick about life in Bude. We even heard the fascinating story of the iconic Monterey Cypress tree that stood in the town centre for around 80 years before Storm Eunice uprooted it in 2022, narrowly missing the shop. It's conversations like these that make shopping with independent businesses so memorable – you leave feeling like you've experienced a little piece of the town's history as well.
We came away with a beautiful picture and a lovely hanging decoration, and they were the only souvenirs we bought during our stay in Bude. They're absolutely perfect reminders of our wonderful second holiday here, and they'll always bring back happy memories whenever we see them at home.
