点评:Waze and Google Maps provided us bad directions to Highlands Ranch Resort. Resort told us we needed to enter park near Manzanita Lake and drive the 30 miles on Park road to southern entrance. We drove the 30 miles around 8:00 pm in clouds, mist and snow during late spring storm. We were the only car on the highway! Amazing to see and smell the sulphur works in snow! Views in storm were incredible! Next day we entered park from southwest entrance. Enjoyed movie about earlier volcanic eruptions and got my Junior Ranger badge at visitor center. Learned Visitor Center built from wood from previous ski chalet. Drove the road both ways in snow storm. Saw the bright red snow plant that gets its nutrients from lower roots of pines. Saw Bufflehead mating pair on Lake Manzanita in driving rain. Lassen Volcano was not visible in the snow and heavy clouds. Bumpass Hell was covered by fog and clouds. We felt we had the park to ourselves!
